Chandigarh (Capitol Complex 4), 2006, 2008

John Riddy’s photographs are dedicated to the architecture and individuality of certain places. His subject matter is wide-ranging from photographs of Denmark Hill in South London, where his parents used to live, to images of Renaissance or Modernist architecture in France and Italy. Riddy uses urban spaces to reflect on time, atmosphere, spatial illusion and cultural histories.  Chandigarh (Capitol Complex 4) captures the brutalist and anachronistic government compound designed by Le Corbusier in India.
